i understood the 「A時、B。」video. it was entertaining and easy to follow. "When" can be used for before or after something. you choose which one makes sense in the sentence. In a sentence, when i go to japan, i will buy a ticket. You have to purchase the ticket before you can go to Japan. So with before you use 時 , (toki) in present short form. If in a sentence, i overslept, i will take a taxi. its impossible to take a taxi before you overslept. so with after you use 時, in past tense. some sentences can be interchangeable but chose the one that makes the most sense.
